VINTAGE Art Glass Bowl - Watermelon Colours - Hand Blown - Large

Large and heavy hand blown bowl in watermelon colours of pink and green.

• The bowls exterior has textured swoops of glass formed into lobe/petal shapes.
• Looking down on the bowl from above these lobes form a pattern that looked like a double-petalled flower.
• There is a layer of clear glass clearly discernible below the pink layer which stops abruptly at the clear cut pontil area.
• Murano made similar styles but I suspect this is more likley to from a quality mid-century Japanese glassworks such as Tajima.
• The beauty and workmanship of the glass really show when the bowl is placed in a sunlit spot.

CONDITION

Excellent - no chips or cracks.  There are a few small surface scratches but none that are significant or obvious until you examine the bowl closely.

DIMENSIONS

It weighs an epic 1.65kg and measures 25 cm across the rim.  10.5 cm tall.
